Day 6: Summit Day and Descent to Kilembe

Day 1Kilembe to Sine Camp

Start early from the Kilembe Trailhead and Trek through lush forests and diverse vegetation.  Arrive at Sine Camp, which is the first overnight stop. Enjoy your dinner and  set up camp to rest for the night.

Day 2Sine Camp to Mutinda Camp

Enjoy your breakfast and continue your trek through varied landscapes, including moss-covered trees and open valleys. Ascend gradually towards Mutinda Camp, enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

Reach Mutinda Camp and set up camp for the night.

Day 3Mutinda Camp to Bugata Camp

Depart from Mutinda Camp and trek towards Bugata Camp. You will encounter diverse flora and fauna along the way, including giant lobelias and heather. Arrive at Bugata Camp, which sits at a higher elevation, offering stunning views.

 Set up camp and spend the night. Dinner and overnight at Bugata camp.

Day 4Bugata Camp to Hunwick's Camp

Enjoy your breakfast and  depart from Bugata Camp and trek towards Hunwick’s Camp. Traverse rocky terrain and alpine meadows as you ascend further. Reach Hunwick’s Camp, which is located near Lake Kitandara.

 Set up camp and rest for the night. Dinner and overnight at Hunwick’s camp.

Day 5Hunwick's Camp to Margherita Camp

Enjoy your breakfast and begin your ascent towards Margherita Peak, the highest point of the Rwenzori Mountains.  Trek through challenging terrain, including glaciers and steep slopes.

 Arrive at Margherita Camp, which serves as the base camp for summit attempts. Set up camp and prepare for the summit push the next day. Dinner and overnight at Margherita camp.

Day 6Summit Day and Descent to Kilembe

Enjoy your breakfast and  start very early in the morning for the summit push to Margherita Peak.

Reach the summit and enjoy breath taking views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers.

Descend back to Margherita Camp and then continue the descent to Kilembe.   Arrive back at Kilembe Trailhead, completing the Weiseman Hike.  Celebrate your achievement and reflect on the incredible journey.

What is cancellation policy?

Our cancellation policy is designed to be as flexible and understanding as possible. If you need to cancel your trek for any reason, here’s what you can expect:

1. More than 30 days before departure: You can cancel your trip for a full refund, minus a small administrative fee to cover processing costs.
2. Between 15 to 30 days before departure: We offer a 50% refund of the total trip cost, as we may have already incurred costs on your behalf.
3. Less than 15 days before departure: Unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund as we will have committed resources to your trek by this time.
