Itinerary

Day 1Arrival and Orientation

Your adventure typically begins with your arrival at the base camp, where you will  meet your guides, porters, and fellow trekkers. You will  receive a briefing on the trek ahead, safety protocols, and equipment checks.Drive to the lodge where you will spend your overnight or make your tents on the mountain to camp for the night.

Day 2Nyakalengija to Nyabitaba Camp (2,651m)

The journey kicks off with a trek from Nyakalengija, the trailhead, through lush rainforest teeming with diverse flora and fauna. You will ascend to Nyabitaba Camp, your first overnight stop.

Day 3Nyabitaba to John Matte Camp (3,415m)

Today’s trek takes you deeper into the Rwenzori’s heart as you traverse bamboo forests and moss-draped trees. You will gain altitude steadily, reaching John Matte Camp nestled amidst spectacular scenery.

Day 4John Matte to Bujuku Camp (3,962m)

The trail ascends further, passing through the Bigo Bog, characterized by unique flora such as giant lobelias and heathers. You’ll cross the famous “Nzururu” ridge before descending to the enchanting Bujuku Valley, where you will  camp for the night.

Day 5Bujuku to Elena Hut (4,541m) via Scott Elliot Pass

Enjoy your breakfast and prepare for a challenging day as you ascend steep terrain and navigate rocky ridges. You will  cross the Scott Elliot Pass, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Rwenzoris. Your destination, Elena Hut, sits at the base of Mount Stanley’s glaciers.

Day 6Ascent of Mount Stanley (5,109m) and Descent to Kitandara Hut (4,023m)

Today marks the pinnacle of your adventure as you attempt the ascent of Mount Stanley, the highest peak in the Rwenzori Range. The climb is demanding but rewards you with unparalleled vistas from the summit. After descending, you will  rest at Kitandara Hut.

Day 7Kitandara Hut to Guy Yeoman Hut (3,261m) via the Freshfield Pass

Enjoy your breakfast and continue with your descent through stunning alpine scenery as you cross the Freshfield Pass. Keep an eye out for Rwenzori’s diverse wildlife, including the elusive Rwenzori turaco. Dinner and overnight at Guy Yeoman Hut.

Day 8Guy Yeoman Hut to Nyakalengija

The final leg of your journey takes you back to Nyakalengija, where you’ll bid farewell to the Rwenzoris, cherishing memories of an unforgettable trekking experience.

What is cancellation policy?

Our cancellation policy is designed to be as flexible and understanding as possible. If you need to cancel your trek for any reason, here’s what you can expect:

1. More than 30 days before departure: You can cancel your trip for a full refund, minus a small administrative fee to cover processing costs.
2. Between 15 to 30 days before departure: We offer a 50% refund of the total trip cost, as we may have already incurred costs on your behalf.
3. Less than 15 days before departure: Unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund as we will have committed resources to your trek by this time.
